WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE A PEOPLE OF SANCTUARY?
This month (for the first time ever!) UU Basel has organized most of its offerings around a single theme, SANCTUARY. A group of UUB members have begun training with Rev. Lara Fuchs, who is ‘coaching’ us to prepare and offer worship and other events to our beloved community. In structured classes, we’re learning principles and practices to help us develop inviting services that provide opportunity for connection with something larger than ourselves and call us to do something that makes a change in our day to day, week to week lives; to do something that brings life and action to our principles and beliefs. For inspiration we’re drawing on materials prepared for groups like ours by UUA’s ‘Soul Matters’ ministry team.
The theme for October is SANCTUARY – what better time then, for the return of the Sunday Sanctuary?!
13:30 – 15:30 Matt Cook will lead a discussion on how we create and seek sanctuary in our communities and the world at large.
Please note children’s programming is not currently provided during second Sunday programming.
Children’s RE is offered during the traditional services on the 4th Sunday of each month.
