Our speaker this week is Sharon.
This Sunday, as school and work reimpose their predictable rhythms on our lives and some of us are settling back into home ‘here’ as opposed to home ‘there’, for some of us anticipating and preparing for the year ahead in UUB, we’ll consider transitions.
How do we engage with them in our own lives and the life of our community – or do we engage with them at all?
What helps us face the sense of chaos they may bring, and thrive anyway?
Drawing on the work of Pema Chödrön and others, we’ll consider ways we might approach chaos and transition with more ease, individually and together in this, our UUB community.
We welcome you to join us for a delicious pot-luck lunch after the Service.
13:30 Discussion:
What do we agree on as a community? What do we wish to do/create/achieve in our next financial year?
It is our agreed purpose and goals, every year, that inform how the community then thinks about the budget:
-How much do we need to raise in order to serve the community’s vision?
-What amounts will we allocate to spending in each budget area?
-What new fresh ideas will appear in this conversation?
