Im Lohnhof 8, Basel
Integral Buddhism and the Future of Spirituality / The Past, by Ken Wilber
This coming Sunday, we’ll meet at im Lohnhof 8 at 11AM for Sanctuary, where we will learn and practice Integral Meditation, a frame for traditional meditation that integrates 20th century developmental psychology. There is much you may be familiar with, presented in an integrated way.
We’ll break for lunch to eat locally, and return at 13:30 for a discussion of the first chapter of the book. This book was chosen because it is considered an introduction to the larger work “The Religion of Tomorrow,” and can be easily covered in the next three fourth Sundays. The book is divided into three sections, “The Past,” “The Present,” and “The Future.” We will use the first thirty pages of the book which comprise section 1 as a basis for our discussion this coming Sunday.
Three meetings to complete this introductory book on Wilbur’s vision for the future of religion. Buddhism is used as an example in this introduction. We will decide before year’s end whether to commit as a group to the longer more comprehensive “The Religion of Tomorrow,” which brings all of the major religions into the discussion.
