Hiatus

Tuesday, August 8, 2026

Dear Members and friends,

After a board discussion and invitation for feedback in the general chat, We have an announcement to make:

After 16 years of regular meetings and services, UUBasel will on hiatus due to dwindling numbers and some of our key members moving away. If you would like to be a part of a potential rebirth in 2027, please sign up and indicate your willingness to engage as a member of the new leadership team. Perhaps you’d like to invite interested friends who share your vision for liberal religious expression, non-dogmatic spirituality, and the potential for a UUB 2.0. We will offer, when requested, support, encouragement, and connection to the larger UU community.

Newly interested parties will be put in touch with one another. An email to uubasel@gmail.com with the word Interested in the subject heading is all it takes.

Thanks to all on this list for your support, input and participation over the years.

Matt Gilsenan
Secretary UUB
Term ending Nov 2026
